DIGESTER

Food Waste Digester.png

Food waste processing, drying, dehydration, degradation, and composting to Organic Compost, all within 24 hours. The principle is to mimic our very own (humankind) digestive system, by designing the Digester as a carrier (body). The food waste is put into the biodegradation bin (stomach) to be treated, and microbial agents are mixed into it automatically. High temperature aerobic microorganisms are used to “cook” or degrade to produce a variety of Enzymes, such as Protease, Lipase, Amylase, Chitinase, Cellulase, Oxidase, Hydrolase, etc., mechanised the aerobic digestion and degradation process.

The Digester replicates the physiological effects of our stomach; by controlling the temperature, humidity, and dissolved oxygen automatically, it provides a conducive environment for digestion and decomposition conditions for microorganisms to quickly decompose the food waste just like the bacteria in our gut. Under aerobic conditions, our high temperature microbial degrading bacteria can convert 95% of food waste into heat, carbon dioxide and water. A small amount of carbon dioxide and water vapor are discharged in the form of gas, 5% or less of the food waste residual will turn into a dark organic fertiliser through the process of degradation treatment in 24 hours.

It is interesting to note that the Digester was designed with our high temperature “Organic Digestive Bacteria” capabilities in mind, from Bioengineering in the lab to Mechanical Engineering in the factory.

Realising the objectives in localisation treatment, harmlessness, mass reduction, and resource utilisation for food waste. The whole process will not cause any secondary pollution of sewage discharge, and truly achieve harmless treatment; completely degrading and decomposing the food waste by high temperature microbial digestion process, which will not affect the surrounding environment during and after treatment like noise and odour.

Independent third-party inspection has verified the effect. The whole process and after processing is harmless, the final processed Organic Compost output is also harmless.

The use of 1-2 tonnes of conventional aerobic digesters are not commercially viable with high operations cost. We only handle 10 tons and more a day capacities.

Advantages

  • No wastewater, waste gas, with degradation rate above 95%

  • No need for oil-water separation

  • No crushing or extrusion treatment (no noise), low breakdown rate

  • Higher tolerance for contamination

  • Food waste can be added directly, do not have to wait for grinding to end before loading the next batch

  • No odour or VOCs discharge

  • Low energy consumption, only 30% of conventional digester, allows 24 hours of adding food waste continuously for digestion, and more

These capabilities are very different from the conventional digesters that need skillful workers to operate, crush the food waste batch by batch, low quality discharge can only be incinerated with additional costs, or need a very long fermentation process to achieve fertiliser grade output, VOCs emission problems. Very low tolerance for contaminations and no odour control.

Setup

The setup of this food waste Digester project is simple, and the installation period is short. It can respond to the immediate needs of the increasing amount of food waste on-site for rubbish segregation, with long-term and stable operation.

  1. Great digestion effects minimise volume reduction of 95% or more

  2. No oil-water separation

  3. No grinding or crushing required

  4. No noise

  5. Higher tolerance of contaminations

  6. No wastewater discharge, evaporation methodology

  7. Odourless, no VOCs discharge

  8. Pre-set food waste sorting process, better suited for different varieties of incoming food waste, wider range of acceptance and applications

  9. The Digester is made up of standard parts, modular components, and robust equipment units, customisable to fit into any environment, easy to install, ease of use and maintenance

  10. Complete specifications for daily processing for 2 tonnes, local conditions, customisable to various needs and locations

  11. Energy savings with heat preservation and self-heating (35~60℃ medium and high temperature bacteria) to decompose, minimum electricity usage and no water consumption. Less than half of the energy, probably 30% comparable to conventional digesters

  12.  Less than 5% of residuals as Organic Compost

Aided by Probiotic live Bacteria in drying to composting automatically, odourless control with Multi-Microbial Deodorant. This combination is unique and probably the best in the world. No odorous gas, and it is guaranteed.

The smelliest odorous gases are produced from food waste with the 3 main food waste groups: fruits, vegetables, and meats. It is also the main source of obnoxious smells by bad bacteria producing VOCs and odorous gases. Hence, it is smelly and dirty work, recruiting and retaining workers is a challenge. We can address this issue with our bacteria solutions to deodorise and for detoxification using the Multi-Microbial Deodorant. It is designed as part of the package, or it can be a standalone solution just to control and to eliminate odours.

Unlike other types of equipment, our Digester is integrated with dehydrating bacteria and high temperature composting bacteria, has both drying and composting capabilities, and is collectively referred to as "Organic Digestive Bacteria". The Drying and Composting Agents are mixed together with live bacteria developed as powder-form. Use ratio of 1:1000 Kgs.

Food waste is made up of 95% fluid, our Organic Digestive Bacteria can reduce more than 95% of the food waste mass. Reducing a tonne of food waste to about 50 kilograms (it could be 45, 40 or 35 kilograms depending on the waste mixed) in 24 hours to useful Organic Compost.
